Material Evaluation Courses at Lavender International

We provide 4 Materials Evaluation courses, these include:

Hardness Testing of Metals
Conductivity Testing of Wrought Heat Treatable Aluminium Alloys
Acid Etch Inspection of Steel
Anodic Flaw Detection of Aluminium Alloys

Lavender International can now provide high quality hardness and conductivity training at our training school in Penistone in addition to acid etch and anodic flaw detection . We have invested heavily in both Vickers and Rockwell hardness testing machines which have been located in our outside agency inspection department.

Carrying out training and examinations in Penistone will allow smaller suppliers or individual inspectors a more cost effective approach which can be followed by a short on-site assessment where applicable.

To supplement the training, examinations can then be taken in accordance with the following Prime contractors Specifications:

AIRBUS ASI6-10
BAE SYSTEMS R05-6267
WESTLAND HELICOPTERS WHPS 439
HONEYWELL AEROSPACE YEOVIL NGPS 439
GKN (IOW) WAPS 25-04
BOEING BSS 7646 AND BSS 765

The above Material Evaluation techniques have to be incorporated into a written practice in accordance with BSEN 4179/NAS 410 and their use controlled by the nominated/responsible Level 3.

Whether you require training and examinations on-site or at your premises, training and examinations in Penistone or Level 3 Consultancy, Lavender International can provide you with the most comprehensive package available for Material Evaluation complete with backing by expert Consultant Mr Brian Carter.

Summary of methods

Conductivity testing courses offer training in the use of Eddy Current Inspection to monitor the heat treated condition and mechanical properties.

Hardness training includes training in the use of indentation hardness machines to monitor the surface hardness of a range of ferrous and non ferrous alloys.

Acid Etch Inspection involves training in the surface preparation of metals to enhance the visual evaluation of surface properties and condition by acid etching.
