  Phased Array Examinations at Lavender International    
       
 

We provide examinations for Phased Array Testing, including PCN personal certification examinations to Levels 2 and 3, plus examination for employers based schemes such as SNT-TC-1A, NAS410, EN4179, to Levels 2 and 3. We are unable to offer ASNT Level 3 examinations, as these are only available in one location in the UK. Phased Array is an advanced level of Ultrasonic Testing, candidates must hold a current valid PCN Level 2 and 3 Certification in Ultrasonic Testing to be eligible for PCN/SNT Level 2 and 3 Phased Array examinations.

To be eligible for the PCN/SNT Level 2 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and colour), and the appropriate UT level 2 exam held.

The PA Level 2 examination includes a theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.

The PCN requirements for Level 2 PA are: 80 hours training and 3 months supervised work experience in using PA to be obtained either before the examination, or within 12 months after passing the exam.

Once the 80 hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 3 additional months supervised work experience obtained within 12 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

To be eligible for the PCN/SNT Level 3 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and colour), and the appropriate UT level 2 and UT level 3 must be held.

The PA Level 3 examination includes a theory paper.

The Level 3 Basic exam must be passed, this is a theory exam containing questions from a range of methods. In addition to the basic exam, the method exam must then be passed. For PCN, there are 3 theory papers, General, Specific, and Written Procedure. In PCN, if Level 2 is not held, the Level 2 practical exam must be passed.
