Current Examinations at Lavender

We provide examinations for Eddy Current Testing, including
PCN personal certification examinations to Levels 1, 2 and
3, plus examinations for employer based schemes such as SNT-TC-1A,
NAS410, EN4179, to Levels 1, 2 and 3. We are unable to offer
ASNT Level 3 examinations, as these are only available in one
location in the UK. For the dates and location of the next
ASNT Level 3 examinations, telephone the Lavender office on

Please Note: PCN require that an exam levy is paid
at an appropriate rate

Level 1 |

To be eligible for the PCN/SNT
Level 1 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision
and colour).
The ET Level 1 examination includes a theory paper, specific
paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 1 ET are: 40 hours training,
previous to the exam, and 3 months supervised work experience,
to be obtained either before the examination, or within 12 months
after passing the exam.
Once the 40 hours training have been obtained, the examination
passed, and 3 months supervised work experience obtained within
12 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

Level 1 is held, or 120 hours direct to level 2, previous to
the exam, and 9 months supervised work experience additional
to Level 1 (12 months direct), to be obtained either before the
examination, or within 12 months after passing the exam.
Once the 40 additional hours training have been obtained, the
examination passed, and 9 additional months supervised work experience
obtained within 12 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue
certification.

To be eligible for the PCN/SNT Level 3 examination,
an eye test must be passed (near vision and colour).

The Level 3 Basic exam must be passed, this is a theory
exam containing questions from a range of methods. In addition
to the basic exam, the method exam must then be passed.
For PCN, there are 3 theory papers, General, Specific, and
Written Procedure. In PCN, if Level 2 is not held, the Level
2 practical exam must be passed.
