Over the Christmas and New Year period, with the full support of local tradesmen, the Lavender International Ultrasonics Training Rooms are being extended and fully refurbished.

By knocking through into Unit 4, two new Training Rooms are being created and by moving the storage area and the washroom, more space is being created in the original rooms.

The local tradesmen have agreed to complete the work, which also includes a new ceiling, new lighting, new benches and desks, new flooring and a full decoration programme, during the 21 days from December 18th to January 8th 2007, in time for the new trainees on that Monday.

When we have completed the work we will publish some new photographs to go with this Report.

On the last weekend in October 2006 Steve Hewling and Alisa Hampshire of Lavender International competed in and successfully finished the Dublin Marathon. Steve and Alisa had put in many hours of training and have raised over £1000 which is to be divided between The Elliott Haslam Trust Fund – Meningitis and The Race for Life – Cancer Research Ltd.

They would both like to thank the many individuals both local and in NDT who have donated generously over the past year in support of their efforts.

Well done Alisa and Steve.

Lavender International have taken delivery of a defibrillator which is now located in the Reception of Unit 7. Roger Hamlett, a qualified first aider, is also qualified as a ‘First Responder’ and able to use this equipment in an emergency. Lavender International took this initiative as a support to the South Yorkshire Ambulance Service as well has having the equipment on site at a busy train station and NDT training centre.
